Answer

Nipuna Weerasiri seems to be a Sri Lankan and Sinhalese name. But It is really unfortunate to observe, that many Sri Lankans posses an inferiority complex. They tend to think that if there is some outstanding work done by a certain individual in an any area or a field, then it can not be by a person from Sri Lanka and certainly not by a Sinhalese.

Nipuna, because of there are so many of like you are still in the country (Thank God there is one less now as you are in Germany) many well educated highly trained Sri Lankan, Sinhalese, Tamils and Burgers alike, the cream of the country were compelled to leave the island.

Blinded by the inferiority complex, misguided by the greedy opportunistic politicians, riddled with bloody murderous thugs, criminals and terrorists of who's acts of cruelty both real Sinhalese and Tamils abhorrer and are ashamed of. A country which could have easily rivaled Japan or Singapore is now fallen down to the level of one of the poorest countries of the world.

On the other hand, (except for a few who has the separatist mania) Indians, in spite of where they have come from like Andra Pradesh, Madhiya Pradesh, Bengal or Tamil Nadu and where ever they live and Naturalized (become citizens), whether, it is USA, Canada, UK or Germany. They consider them self as American Indians, UK Indians and etc. Because they know very well, it is a Joke and also unhealthy, for both the original and the adopted countries, if they try to pretend themselves as Norsemen, Vikings, Cossacks, Scottish highlanders or they arrived with the first fleet of Pilgrims to USA.

Like Japanese, Indians too value their culture. Indian Government recognizing the contribution of expatriate Indians, automatically grants the duel citizenship. Many returning expatriate Indians are encouraged and allowed to participate actively in the countries development. That is why India is now advancing in every aspect. But doing nothing in return, The Sri Lankan Government headed by short sighted foolish politicians and with people like your attitude, is only waiting for the Money remittances from abroad.

Though I live, perhaps die and have spent almost a half of my life in Western countries, I am still a Sri Lankan Sinhalese. And I never pretend to be somebody else. Perhaps it may be due to the quality of good schooling I gained from the unquestionably, the best school in Sri Lanka. The Colombo Ananda College. Where I was taught that "You must first learn to appreciate, your own culture, your language, your religion. Then only you will gain the ability and the capacity to truly appreciate an another country, another language, or a religion". Else how can a person who does not know the value of his own heritage can understand the value of others heritage. Such people are nothing but just human forms and empty hulls like Thalebans of Afganistan who go on destroying own world heritage.

Nipuna, As you seems to have failed to notice that on the very top of every web page I have written "Jyotisha" in Sinhalese as well as many Sinhalese headings. Perhaps, Nipuna, during the short time you were in Germany you appear to pretend that you have forgotten the Sinhalese Language too. Otherwise any one who is not blind can not fail to notice it.

When I look into your writing I say it is correct as I will stand for a fight anyware anytime and use my brain to win the battle.But I am not stupid either if the oppenent is strong will use other means to make him soft and make him fall. I do never give up living although I went through hell from 1991 Nov. until 1998. I was sucidal but carmed my nerves, made lot of mistakes but hanging on, after I converted to Buddhism.I received a book by Ven.Devananda Maha thero on Sattipattana suttra and he has explained it very well.I will send a photocopy of it to you soon. I think you have the right mind to read and understand it.
